You can get domain names pretty cheap; less than $5.00. But the average price for a .com domain name is about $10.00. The largest Australian Telecommunication company in Australia, Telstra Bigpond charges a single .com domain name for a two year purchase costs a $85.00AUD New Registration Fee/Domain Transfer/Registration Renewal Fee. This alone is much more expensive then other places on the internet.

But the thing is, this isn’t the only charge. Yes, there’s another charge, and it’s a recurring charge. You have to pay a management fee of 12.50AUD per month. This fee is roughly the same price on what you can by a domain name anywhere else.

The minimum cost of the a domain name over 2 years is $385.00. To me that is expensive. Every month you could basically purchase another domain name.

Have you seen a more expensive domain name registration from another leading company who makes billions of dollars every year.

After doing a quick search on eBay, I found some domain names with ridiculous prices attached to them. For a By It Now Price of US$21,000,000.00 and a starting price of US$250,000.00 the domain name loanmod.net is for sale.

Seriously, you would be a fool to purchase this domain name for this price. If it were Microsoft.com or Google.com, you would, but not loanmod.net. And the amazing thing is that they seller, jetbro20 has 100% positive feedback from 95 people.

Another domain name is selling for US$20589444.00 as a By It Now price. Again, the seller has 100% positive feedback.

If someone actually purchases these names, it will be a real shock. (Unless someone purchases it through someone else’s eBay account - which we don’t recommend you do)

Although most domain names are quite cheap, if its available, you can pick them up for less than $4.00. But some domains names are a lot more when you despicably want them. The top 20 domain names have all been purchased for amounts over $1 million dollars, the top, selling for $14 million dollars. And the domain name, Sex.com  - who would have thought.

Next on the list was Fund.com selling for $50 short of $10 million and third was Porn.com for $9.5 million.

If your thinking of purchasing one of these domain names, think again unless you are really rich.

Today, the Internets favourite search engine Google have decided to change their name. The Google search engine is one of the most popular search engine on the Internet, above yahoo, live and all the others. From the start of 2009, Google will now be know as Hotweb. This name was decided after a meeting at Google headquarters. Experts have suggested that changing their name to Hotweb will lose surfers and will be a negative result for the multi-billion dollar company.

This has been one of the worsts move by Google.

The Google domain name will continue to work until the end of 2009, which will then be sold for an expected price of $3 million US.

From the start of next year, you can access Googles (will then be known as Hotweb) new website www.hotweb.com. So you better start remembering to tpye that in when you do a search.
