Good news if someone has hacked your Facebook account. There is now a procedure in place if your account has been compromised. If Facebook thinks your account is being used to spam, you will be sent an email directing you to a page so you can get it back. The first step is an overview giving you information about the process. The second step is a security check. You then have to verify your account and change your password in the third and fourth step. In the fifth step, you can restore your account.

Users who have signed up for a Facebook after May 31st, you will have to wait until 3pm EDT to prevent abuse on preventing squatting on names.

What ever time you are meant to be able to choose your username, Facebook will prompt you how you can get one. It is on a first come first serve basis, so get in early to get a name you want. But, you can only ever have one name, so choose carefully.

There have been many Facebook apps going around, but their is one in particular that has court my eye.

The Whopper Sacrifice. This Facebook application gives you a free flamed-broiled Whopper from Burger King (US only)

All you have to do to get your Free burger is to install the Facebook application and delete 10 friends from Facebook, and you get a free burger.

If you like all your friends, my suggestion is to add 10 unknown people, or friends that you hate, to get your free burger when you delete them, after they have accepted your request. It’s also a good idea to clean up your old contact list.

You can download the application on their website.

bebo_logo Social Networking site Bebo has had a facelift recently to increase the user friendliness and to increase their user base of 5.9 Million. Compared from popular social networks sites MySpace who has 76 Million users and facebook which has 46 Million, Bebo has a lot of catching up to do.

The $850 Million website has included some features to help with the relaunch that AOL has prepared. The ability to read emails and instant messages from third parties, RSS feeds from other websites and a recommendation tool that suggests media files that are already hosted on the website.

Bebo is slightly different to the other social networks sites as it wants to try and be the entertainment destination for its users.

That’s right. The popular social networking site Myspace is shutting down. After much input from Internet users of the site, they were fed up of using two social networking sites - MySpace and Facebook. So instead of having competition with the new Facebook, they decided to shutdown MySpace. From the 5th of January 2009, MySpace will no longer be accessible to the public. Information that MySpace holds will be deleted.

It came a sudden shock when MySpace fans found out about this as they believe Facebook is terrible, expeccially after there face-lift of their new design.

MySpace founder Tom stated that “I knew it wasn’t going to out-beat Facebook, thus why I sold it”

However, MySpace Music will continue to run for another couple of Months, but for the rest of us, say your final goodbyes and hope you enjoy your new home at Facebook.
