Microsoft has been trying so hard to kill of Windows XP, but it just won’t die. Microsoft was planing to stop support and sales for XP by the end of January 2009, but due to the new PC’s out on the market with limited processor power, it will struggle to run bloated Windows Vista.
Even though Vista has been around for almost 2 years, XP is still a popular OS chose as it is clean, friendly and stable. It runs smoothly on most computers, unlike Windows Vista.
Windows XP is still the popular Operating System with 72% of users using it, while Vista is down to 15.1%. (Linux: 3.8%, Mac: 5.3%) Source: w3schooles
So Windows XP will still be sold with the purchases of new computers through to 2009. When will we see XP dead? Who knows? It is a very popular choice of OS. Maybe we will bury it when Windows 7 gets released.
